Export and Import of voucher in Tally

Tally has an advantage feature of exporting and importing data. It's advantageous to know about Tally’s export and import capabilities, which enables Tally to interact globally. Statements and data from Tally can be exported to other programs like spreadsheets and databases. Only data from Tally can be imported and not data from other systems. Importing from other systems involves the usage of ‘Tally’s Definition Language’ TDL.

Export of Data
You might need to export information for different purposes, viz:

  1. Hello Nitesh,
i want to import sales voucher from one tally to another, how to do it??

    ReplyDelete
  2. Sales vouchers consist of data relating to stock items, sales account, debtors account and tax or vat account. So, at first you need to export all the masters. If any master is left, the data relating to that master can not be imported.
Then go to Gateway of tally>Display>Statement of Accounts>Statistics>sales

Select the date range of the data you need to export.
    Export it in xml format.
Then import the master at first in another tally.
    After that, import the vouchers.

  3. But you need to be careful on importing because the opening balance also get imported with importing masters. It manipulates your opening balances.

  6. Sir I had a question,
Is it possible to copy a company?
ie "Company A" was already there from 2009
i want a "new Company B" also from 2009 with all details from company A

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Your question is quite unclear.
      1. If you want to continue entry in company B with all financial data of company A:
Ans 1: You can copy the company folder to another name. For that, you need to go to tally directory where you have placed your data. e.g. c:\\program files\tally.erp9\data and then select the folder of Company A. If you do not know which is company A in the data folder, just open tally and go through the directory where you can see file names after inserting file path. Copy the company A folder with different numerical number. Be noted the digits must be same. In ERP9, it is 5 digits so you are required to put 5 digits file name. Then go through the tally, rename the company to company B. This is the shortest technique.

      2. Company Split:
The easy way is splitting the company where you get 2 new companies. One with all the opening balance from Company A, and another one is duplicate of company A. You need to go to cmp info or alt+F3, and select split company, then select company, you are asked for company name and date you want to split from. Then you will get the two new companies. Keep the required one, and delete the unnecessary one. It may take time to split depending upon the tally statistics.

      Hope you get your answer.
      Sorry for late response.

  11. Why AI-Driven Learning Is the Future of Education

Let’s explore six data-backed reasons why AI is the future of education — and how Simandhar Education is already leading the way with AI-powered platforms across its global certification programs.

    1. Adaptive Learning Boosts Retention by Over 35%

Traditional education treats all students the same, but adaptive learning customizes the experience. According to a McGraw Hill and Arizona State University study, students using adaptive courseware experience 35–45% higher knowledge retention compared to standard learning methods.

AI algorithms assess individual learner behavior and adjust content difficulty, pace, and delivery format to optimize comprehension — especially helpful for US CPA subjects like REG or complex Data Analytics modules.

    2. Real-Time Analytics Increases Exam Readiness by 28%

AI systems analyze quiz performance, time spent per module, and topic-wise accuracy to offer real-time feedback. Studies from McKinsey and EDUCAUSE show a 28% boost in exam performance when students receive immediate, data-driven feedback.

Learners no longer have to wait for human evaluations — AI tools instantly highlight weak areas and suggest corrective steps, accelerating exam preparation.

    3. 24/7 AI Tutors Improve Query Resolution Speed by 80%

Traditional learning environments often have delayed response times. AI-powered academic bots solve this by answering questions in real-time. IBM’s education case studies reveal that AI tutors can cut student query resolution times by over 80%.

Whether it’s a CPA FAR journal entry or a Python script error, students get reliable, instant answers anytime — reducing dependency on limited faculty hours.

    4. Predictive Algorithms Help Reduce Dropout Risk by 25–30%

AI doesn’t just track current performance — it forecasts future issues. EDUCAUSE and Inside Higher Ed report that predictive analytics can reduce dropout risk by 25–30% by detecting early signs of disengagement or poor performance.

If a student misses quizzes, lags behind, or struggles in specific topics, AI alerts mentors for timely intervention — improving retention and success rates.

    5. Gamified Simulations Drive 2X Skill Application in Analytics Training

AI-driven gamification makes learning interactive and practical. According to Harvard Business Review and PwC, simulation-based learning improves applied skills by up to 2x compared to textbook methods.

Learners in AI or Analytics programs gain hands-on experience solving real-world cases — such as building Power BI dashboards or writing Python code for data cleaning.

    6. Smart Dashboards Enhance Educator Decision-Making

Educators also benefit from AI. HolonIQ and Gartner reports show that AI dashboards help teachers reduce admin workload by 40%, allowing them to focus on academic quality.

Faculty can see which students are underperforming, which topics need revision, and how different cohorts compare — enabling precision teaching.

    Conclusion

AI-driven learning isn’t a prediction for tomorrow — it’s a revolution happening today. From real-time feedback to adaptive simulations, AI empowers learners with insights, speed, and flexibility. Simandhar Education, with its robust AI infrastructure and strategic use of Skillfluenz, is proving that personalized, smart learning leads to smarter results.

  13. Crack CPA Simulations Like a Topper | Simandhar Education

Struggling with CPA simulations? You’re not alone.
Task-Based Simulations (TBS) are one of the most challenging—and critical—parts of the US CPA exam. Making up 50% of the total score, simulations test your ability to apply accounting concepts in real-world business scenarios.

While MCQs check your knowledge, simulations test your mindset, judgment, and clarity under pressure.

So how do you prepare to conquer this crucial section?

Let’s take a page from the playbook of Ujjwal Ahluwalia, the 6th CPA world topper from India, a proud Elijah Watt Sells Award winner, and now placed at American Express. With scores like FAR – 99, BEC – 97, REG – 95, and AUD – 93, Ujjwal didn’t just pass—he dominated the US CPA exams.

In an exclusive podcast with Sripal Jain, Co-Founder of Simandhar Education, Ujjwal shared his 3 simulation strategies that helped him clear CPA on his first attempt. And these are strategies every CPA aspirant can use.

Watch the Full Podcast: Ujjwal Ahluwalia x Sripal Jain
How a World Topper Cracked the US CPA and Landed in American Express

Strategy 1: Read the Question First — Not the Exhibits

“Most students open all six exhibits and get overwhelmed. Read the question first.” – Ujjwal

Each simulation often includes multiple exhibits—like emails, financials, memos, and contracts. But not all are necessary for every question.
Instead of jumping into all exhibits, start by reading the question carefully. Once you understand what’s being asked, open only the exhibit(s) related to that section.

This approach saves time, reduces confusion, and keeps your focus sharp.

Why this works: It prevents information overload and helps you extract exactly what’s needed—nothing more, nothing less.

Strategy 2: Solve One Section at a Time

“Each simulation is divided into parts. Don’t multitask—handle one part at a time.”

Simulations are modular—each question typically relates to a specific topic and often connects with just one exhibit. Ujjwal recommends solving each section independently, using only the data needed for that part.

So instead of flipping through all exhibits or questions, you:

Read Part A, open Exhibit 1, solve.
Move to Part B, open Exhibit 2, solve.
    And so on.
Why this works: Breaking down complex simulations into bite-sized tasks minimizes mental fatigue and boosts accuracy under time pressure.

Strategy 3: Keep It Simple — Think Like a Professional

“It didn’t feel like an exam. It felt like a real client asking me something.”

Ujjwal’s most valuable advice? Don’t overthink simulations.
He approached each one as if he were working in a real accounting role, answering questions for a client or manager. This mental shift helped him stay calm and focused.

Why it works: The CPA exam doesn’t want fancy answers—it wants clear, logical, professional reasoning. Keeping things simple improves your performance and saves time.

    Conclusion

Simulations in the CPA exam are not a trap—they’re an opportunity. They test how you think, not just what you’ve memorized. And with the right approach, they can become your strength.

So take it from Ujjwal Ahluwalia—a world topper who’s walked this path:

Start with the question, not the data dump
    Break it down section-by-section
    Keep it simple and professional
Master these strategies, and you won’t just clear CPA—you’ll crack it with confidence.

  16. US Restarts Student Visas— Social Media Screening Now Mandatory

Thinking about studying in the United States?
Good news — the USA has officially resumed its student visa processing. But there's a twist. If you're planning to apply for a U.S. student visa, be prepared for more than just an academic or financial review. Now, your social media activity will also be screened as part of the process.

As a global education leader, Simandhar Education believes it's important for students and families to stay informed about such critical changes. Let’s break down what’s happening, what it means for aspiring international students — and how you can prepare.

What’s New in the US Visa Policy?

On Wednesday, the USA State Department announced that all student visa applicants must now provide access to their public social media accounts. This move comes after a temporary suspension of visa interviews, reportedly to implement stricter screening guidelines.

This policy mandates that consular officers will review social media posts, comments, and messages to identify any sentiments perceived as hostile towards:

    The U.S. government
    American culture and institutions
    Founding principles and values
Refusal to allow access may be seen as a red flag and could result in visa rejection.

Why Social Media Matters More Than Ever

The visa application process is no longer confined to what you submit on paper. The digital footprint of a student — especially their social media activity — is now considered a core part of identity screening.

This means that even a meme, comment, or post from years ago could come under scrutiny if perceived as problematic. The aim, according to officials, is to “properly screen every single person attempting to visit our country.”

    Who's Affected?

This change is especially relevant for students from countries like India, China, Mexico, and the Philippines, where demand for U.S. higher education remains strong. Many of these students have already been actively refreshing visa appointment portals, eager to get slots as the academic year approaches.

What’s more, the U.S. will prioritize visas for students applying to universities where international students form less than 15% of the total population. This could influence admission strategies, especially for those targeting top private institutions or Ivy League universities, where international student percentages are often much higher.

    Implications for International Students

The social media screening rule adds to a growing list of complexities international students face when planning to study in the U.S. Here’s what students should be aware of:

Be Mindful of Online Activity: Make sure your public profiles are clean, respectful, and free from political controversy or satire that could be misinterpreted.
Privacy Settings Matter: Visa officers may ask you to make your social profiles public temporarily. Be prepared.
Documentation is Not Enough: Your online persona now plays a significant role in shaping first impressions during the visa process.
Understand the Policy Shift: The U.S. government is using this as a tool to reinforce ideological vetting, reminiscent of Cold War-era tactics.
    Simandhar Education’s Advice to Students

At Simandhar Education, we understand the dreams and challenges of international education. As one of the leading global course providers, especially for US CPA, CMA (USA), EA, CIA, ACCA and STEM pathways, our team works closely with thousands of students navigating visa procedures and overseas admissions.
